BCM is a leader in the construction business. We have always taken an innovative approach to both residential and commercial construction. Our team of highly professional contractors are recognized as experts and true builders. We are committed to building everything; from new homes and apartment buildings to local stores, bars, and commercial buildings.

Even though we are known for building we do offer other services such as excavation and demolition services for both residential and commercial clients, including building, ground, & home excavation.

Our History

In 1967, a 20-year-Old William Newby journeyed from Alexandria in St. Ann to Cobbla Camp in Manchester to enter the apprenticeship program for masons and carpenters. Upon graduation he served under Masters Harold Whilby and Allan Peat, respected local builders who entrusted him with several projects. This period allowed him to burnish his skills, in draftsmanship, building construction and carpentry. By 1976, Will ventured on his own as a sole trader, and has worked on
many iconic buildings in Trelawny, St. Ann, and St. Mary, Jamaica. In the 1980s he sojourned into Canada, and worked in Toronto and other towns in Ontario, widening his experience and appreciation for international standards. On his return to Jamaica, he continued to build houses for returning residents along with civil works for the govt. of Jamaica.

BCM Construction Ltd, was registered in 2016 as a successor to the sole tradership of William Newby. Will continues to work in the company in an advisory and sometimes supervisory capacity, still fit and capable! The company is headed by his son Olivier Newby, who is a Project Management and Occupational Health and Safety Specialist.
Since its new incorporation the tradition of excellence has continued. Commercial Buildings, residences, civil works to include roads schools and health facilities have been built. We are very excited about 2025, when our first in-house development Huntley Manor, an eight-unit gated community for Huntley in Browns Town St. Ann will come to market.
